It's the summer of 1994, and the streets of New York are pulsing with hip-hop. Set against this backdrop, Luke Shapiro (Josh Peck) spends his last summer before college selling dope throughout New York City, trading it with his shrink (Ben Kingsley) for therapy, while crushing on his step-daughter (Olivia Thirlby).
that was actually much better than i thought it would be, the old school music, the real life situations of some of us while growing up, the coolness and the wackness of it all
9/10 for the style and the way it was done to be original from someones life, yet common like the same old story
this movie really touched me, its the best movie ive seen since i signed on this site, it showed the good and bad of life. if you like movies that are not full of stupidness then you will love this one, i did. i have to give it a 6/5 no dout
Just really didn't expect that.. Beginning it seemed like wee some kid trying to be all ghettorific and gangsta to the point of being annoying.. But after the first bit it got past that and I got drawn in quick. Bit weird at parts, but overall well worth a watch. If the beginning annoys you, like it did me, just give it a bit and you won't be disappointed. 4/5 from me.
